Clarion's Evolving Employee Value Proposition: Investing in Our People

What is an Employee Value Proposition (EVP), and Why Does It Matter?

At Clarion, we are a people-oriented company. Our work revolves around helping individuals collaborate and communicate effectively. As change specialists, we understand that while industries and technologies evolve, people remain the most important factor in business success. Our internal policies reflect this belief because we genuinely care about our employees.

An Employee Value Proposition (EVP) represents the benefits, rewards, and opportunities an organisation offers to attract, retain, and engage its workforce. Over the past year, we have enhanced our EVP by introducing new benefits, policies and practices that support employee wellbeing, promote work-life balance, and improve job satisfaction. By continuously refining these offerings, we reinforce our commitment to fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment.

Clarion’s Five Pillars of Employee Value Proposition

We deliver our people vision through a clearly defined EVP based on five key pillars.

The first pillar is Compensation, which is about ensuring that employees feel valued for their contributions. Financial security plays a crucial role in job satisfaction, and we are committed to maintaining fairness and transparency in our compensation structures.

The second pillar is a strong benefits package, including essential benefits such as holiday entitlements, pensions, and insurances, provides employees with security and peace of mind. Additional value-added benefits further enhance wellbeing, ensuring that our employees feel supported both inside and outside of work.

Thirdly, we take care to provide training opportunities and job stability to provide an environment where our people can grow within the company.

The fourth pillar is pride of place at Clarion: culture and sense of belonging. A strong workplace culture is built on shared goals, supportive managers, and leadership that fosters trust and collaboration. By creating an environment where employees feel connected to the company’s mission and to each other, we cultivate a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and motivating.

This also ties in with the last pillar which centres around recognising achievements, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities, and providing flexibility in work-life balance all contribute to employee satisfaction.

I can’t express enough how impressed I am with the onboarding process and the incredible company culture here. From day one, I felt like a valued member of the team. The onboarding experience was top-notch. The training videos, welcoming colleagues, and clear communication made my transition seamless, and made me feel well-prepared to dive into my role.

Enhancements to Our EVP in 2024

Continuously developing and refining our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is essential for attracting, retaining, and engaging top talent. As workplace expectations, industry trends, and employee needs evolve, keeping our EVP up to date ensures we remain competitive and aligned with what truly matters to our people. By regularly assessing and enhancing it, we can foster a positive work culture, strengthen our employer brand, and build a motivated, committed team.

In 2024, we made significant additions to our EVP. We introduced Private Medical Insurance (PMI) to give employees access to faster and high-quality healthcare, ensuring peace of mind and improved wellbeing. We also enhanced our maternity and paternity policies to provide better support for new parents, fostering a family-friendly workplace that acknowledges and accommodates personal and family needs.

Another key addition was the holiday buy-and-sell scheme, which allows employees to manage their time off with greater flexibility. This initiative ensures that employees can adjust their schedules according to their personal commitments, improving work-life balance and financial flexibility. To support mental health, we introduced Mental Health First Aiders, trained colleagues who provide peer support and promote wellbeing. Additionally, our regular Lunch and Learn sessions, along with Thrive Initiative activities, encourage employees to prioritise their physical and mental health while fostering a culture of shared learning and self-care.

I have had the warmest of welcomes at Clarion. The culture is open and honest with a grown-up and flexible approach to work. I enjoy coming into the office and spending time with a great group of people who enjoy working hard and getting things done alongside a sense of fun.

What’s Next for Our EVP in 2025?

As Clarion continues to grow, we are exploring ways to further enhance our EVP in 2025. We have already implemented a formal recognition scheme to celebrate employee achievements as well as a volunteering offering which allows employees two paid days per year to volunteer in their communities. We are strengthening our recruitment strategies and policies, expanding family-friendly initiatives, and increasing support for line managers to ensure they can better guide their teams. Additionally, we aim to introduce more structured career progression.

We remain committed to offering a strong compensation and benefits package that ensures financial stability, security, and work-life balance for all employees. Just some of the benefits we already have in place that we’ll also be taking into 2025 are employer pension contributions of up to 10%, and life insurance covering four times an employee’s salary provide essential financial protection. We also offer Group Income Protection, which covers up to 75% of salary for extended illness. To see all of our benefits, check out the Benefits page.

At Clarion, we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community, whether an employee or an associate, feels connected and informed about our future direction. In 2025, we will enhance our communications on our strategy and vision, helping everyone understand how their contributions drive our collective growth and success.

Conclusion

At Clarion, we believe that when our people thrive, so does our organisation. Our evolving EVP reflects our dedication to providing the best possible experience for our people. By investing in competitive compensation, valuable benefits, career development, a strong company culture, and a supportive work environment, we create a workplace where employees feel valued, empowered, and motivated to succeed.
